After I joined Headspace Studio in 2018, I established the Los Angeles facility of the first audio outsource company focused on immersive audio for extended realities. As Head of Interactive Audio, I had the privilege of contributing to incredible XR projects like The Infinite – ISS Experience, the largest VR exhibit to date, Madison Beer VR Concert, which used cutting edge virtual production to deliver a virtual concert across multiple mediums during the pandemic, and Gloomy Eyes, an exquisite example of spatial storytelling with voiceover work by Colin Farrell, who I had the pleasure of voice directing.
Highlights
Co-invented a computer-implemented framework for dynamic, real-time spatial audio synthesis in mixed reality (MR) environments. The system leverages artificial intelligence models to convert natural language descriptions of a soundscape into synchronized continuous ambient backgrounds and context-specific intermittent audio triggers. This technology enhances user immersion by procedurally adapting 3D sound elements to real-time physical or virtual layouts without relying on static, pre-recorded audio libraries.

Co-invented a method and system for enhancing immersive user experiences by dynamically controlling physical, audio-capable connected hardware within mixed reality (MR) environments. The framework tracks a user's real-time position and spatial interactions to automatically adjust external speaker variables—such as volume levels, attenuation filters, and stereo balances—based on virtual occlusions and environmental geometry. This eliminates the need for computational acoustic noise-cancellation by directly modifying how ambient real-world sound systems interact with digital layers.
